Best Wood Fired Pizza Dough Recipe is a recipe provided for us from Woodstone, the makers individuals pizza oven. The original recipe provided for us considered necessary 50# of unbleached flour. We called them asnd said that frequently for the smaller party, we don't use anything but 20#! !.they sheepishly sent us a home recipe. This will make 4 or 5 dough balls, each setting up a 14-16" pizza. That adequately serves a party of 10-14 people. Ingredients

  • 1 kg strong white bread flour , (or 800g strong bread flour mixed with 200g semolina flour)
  • 1 level teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 x 7g sachets of dried yeast
  • 1 tablespoon golden caster sugar
  • 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
FOR THE TOMATO SAUCE:
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • olive oil
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil
  • 3 x 400g tins of whole plum tomatoes
  • sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 1 small head of broccoli
  • 4 quality anchovy fillets
  • 1 fresh red chili
  • 2–3 Italian-style sausages
  • 150 g Taleggio cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds

Directions

  1. For the tomato sauce, peel and finely slice the garlic, then fry in a good amount of olive oil until lightly colored. Pick and tear the basil leaves, then add to the pan with the tomatoes. Using the back of a wooden spoon, mush and squash the tomatoes as much as you can. Season to taste.
  2. As soon as it comes to the boil, remove the pan from the heat. Strain the sauce through a coarse sieve into a bowl, using the spoon to push any larger bits of tomato through. Discard the basil and garlic left in the sieve, but scrape any tomatoes goodness off the back of the sieve into the bowl. Pour the sauce back into the pan, bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Cook until it’s the perfect consistency for spreading on your pizza bases.
  3. For the pizza dough, sieve the flour and salt onto a clean work surface and make a well in the middle. In a jug, mix the yeast, sugar and olive oil into 650ml lukewarm water and leave for a few minutes, then pour into the well. Using a fork, bring the flour in gradually from the sides and swirl it into the liquid. When it all starts to come together, work the rest of the flour in with your clean hands. Knead until you have smooth, springy dough. Place the ball of dough in a large flour-dusted bowl and cover with a damp cloth and place in a warm room for an hour until the dough has doubled in size.
  4. Remove the dough to a flour-dusted surface and knead it around a bit to push the air out. You can use it immediately, or keep it, wrapped in Clingfilm, in the fridge (or freezer) until required. If using straight away, divide the dough up into 6 to 8 balls.
  5. Timing-wise, it’s a good idea to roll the pizza bases out about 15 to 20 minutes before you want to cook them. Stack the pizza bases, with a square of oiled tin foil between each one, cover them with Clingfilm, and pop them into the fridge. Now’s the time to get your wood-fired oven, or conventional oven, heated up to full whack. Place a couple of heavy baking trays in the oven to heat up, too.
  6. Meanwhile, click off the broccoli florets and roughly chop (using the stalk, too). Blanch in boiled salted water for 1 to 2 minutes, then drain. Tear the anchovies into small pieces, then deseed and finely chop the chili. Squeeze the sausage meat out of their skins, and then roll into small, rough meatballs.
  7. When you’re ready to assemble your pizzas, remove a tray from the oven, put a pizza base on it and assemble it quickly – smear tomato sauce on the base and dot with broccoli, torn up anchovy fillets and sausage meatballs. Tear over the Taleggio cheese and sprinkle with chili. Crush and scatter over the fennel seeds. Place in the oven immediately while you prepare the remaining pizzas. If you’re using a wood-fired oven the pizzas should cook, one by one, in about 3 to 4 minutes – you want them to be puffed up, crispy and delicious. In a regular oven, they’ll take 8 to 10 minutes. Serve hot.

I love the addition of orange. What a great idea, esp with a touch of cinnamon and/or vanilla. I have been reading quite a bit about french toast as mine is often soggy and I’m not overly keen on it. Although I’ve always heard that you should use stale bread, I recently read on Fine Cooking that fresh bread makes for better french toast. While staler bread absorbs more liquids, fresh bread is softer so it makes for a more tender french toast. I might try that to see if it makes a difference, I just hope it isn’t more soggy! I guess everyone has a different preference.

Baked Boneless Pork Chop Recipe - Simple but tasty. I wouldn't serve it for a fancy dinner among friends, but it is a great weekday family meal staple. I used thin sliced boneless chops and followed the recipe. I just used the pinch of garlic seasoning and pinch of seasoning salt on each side of the chop. Flipped midway and used more pinches. Served with roasted potatoes and veggies. I will definitely be making this Baked Bone in Pork Chops Recipe again!

Ingredients

Rub
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup (Note 1)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (Note 2)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (or white)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable or canola oil)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (Note 3)
Chops
  • 4 pork chops / cutlets , around 200g/7oz each including bone (Note 4)
  • 800g/ 1.6 lb baby potatoes , larger ones cut in half (Note 5)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 200C / 390F (fan forced / convection) or 220C / 430F (standard oven).
  2. Toss potatoes in oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Scatter on baking tray.
  3. Place in oven for 15 minutes (giving them a head start).
Pork
  1. Meanwhile, mix the Rub ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Slather the pork on both sides with the Rub, reserving some Rub for basting. (See notes for marinating)
  3. Take the tray out of the oven. Place pork on the tray.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove tray from oven, spoon over reserved rub on the surface then bake for a further 10 minutes (or 15 minutes for large chops ~ 350g/12oz) (Note 4).
  5. Take tray out of the oven, flick to grill/broiler on high.
  6. Use a brush to get the golden juices off the tray (especially around pork) and dab it onto the pork – this is key for flavor and color!
  7. Pop pork under grill/broiler for a few minutes until pork is caramelized and golden.
  8. Serve, scraping the juices on the tray onto the pork, then garnish with parsley if desired. Pictured with this Broccoli Salad.

Recipe Notes

  1. If you are in Australia or the UK, you can use Tomato Sauce (American readers – don’t use what you know as Tomato Sauce, use Ketchup!).
  2. I use normal soy sauce (Kikkoman). This can be substituted with 2 1/2 tsp light soy sauce. I don’t recommend dark soy sauce – flavor is too strong.
  3. Can be substituted with white wine or sherry vinegar.
  4. This can be made with any pork chops. I use what we call Pork Cutlets here in Australia. Bone in is better because it’s juicier. Cook time will differ depending on size of cutlets – my cook time is based on 200g/7oz pork chops with bone in. For 350g/12oz, bake for a total of 25 minutes (i.e. 10 minutes + 15 minutes + grill/broil)
You could also use chicken – bake for same time for 180g/6oz boneless thigh fillets and for 200g/7oz breast. I would recommend marinating breast.
  1. Make sure the potatoes are no larger than 3cm / 1 1/4″ diameter otherwise they won’t cook in the prescribed time. You can either increase the initial bake time OR cut the larger ones which is what I did.
  2. If marinating, place in a ziplock bag, add the pork and massage from the outside to coat the pork in the Rub. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours. If freezing put the bag straight in the freezer, then defrost before using. It will marinate while defrosting.

  1. Mix the brown sugar, Bourbon, olive oil, soy sauce and garlic in a bowl and Mix well.
  2. Add shrimp and chicken and stir to coat.
  3. Quietly marinated meat for 1 hour.
  4. Melt the butter in a large skillet on medium high and season the meat with salt and pepper. Save the marinade.
  5. Add the shrimp and the chicken in the pan in a single layer and cook until shrimp are pink and the chicken was white.
  6. Grilled chicken instead of charming characters.
  7. Add peppers and onions to the pan and cook until tender.
  8. Set meat and vegetables aside and add marinade to the pan.
  9. Bring to a boil and whisk from time to time, until thick, about 5 minutes.

No burnt edges, no crusty top, nothing sticking to the bottom....wow, loved this recipe. It will be the one I go to first for lasagna to take to family gatherings. Everyone raved about how tasty it was and it cut like a dream....only thing different I did was to add a bit of spice to the sauce as we love our spice! Otherwise, don't change a thing. Enjoy!

Ingredients

Meat Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped finely
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 8 ounces meatloaf mix (or 4 oz each of ground beef & ground pork)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Filling and Noodles
  • 4 ounces (½ cup) ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus 2 tablespoons extra
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 no-boil oven-ready wide flat lasagna noodles (Barilla brand)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat and add onion with a pinch of salt. Sweat for 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and chili flakes and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in meatloaf mix, and break it up with a wooden spoon. Season with a little salt and pepper. Cook until no longer pink, for about 2 minutes. Stir in cream, diced tomatoes with their juice, and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes. Season lightly with salt and pepper to taste. Don’t season too much or overall lasagna will be too salty.
  2. Combine ricotta, ½ cup Parmesan, and egg together. Sprinkle in a little pepper and mix. To assemble the lasagna, spread ½ cup of meat sauce over bottom of a loaf pan. Spread ⅓ of the ricotta mixture on top of 1 noodle, and lay on top of sauce. Sprinkle on ¼ cup of mozzarella cheese, and a little more sauce. Repeat this layering 2 more times, making sure you end up with enough meat sauce and mozzarella cheese for the top layer. When you lay the last noodle down, you will have no more ricotta mixture left. Place the remaining sauce on top of the dry noodle. Mix together the remaining ¼ cup of mozzarella with 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese and sprinkle on top of the sauce.
  3. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake at 25-30 minutes, or until the noodles are cooked and the sauce is bubbly around the edges. Remove the foil and bake until the cheese is lightly brown in spots, for an additional 10 minutes or so. Let cool for 5-10 minutes out of the oven to let it set a little more before cutting into it.

The first time I doubled the sauce after reading reviews. Now I triple the sauce (divide) and add the rest after draining & turning. This is requested all the time. There are never any leftovers. Enjoy!

Easy Lorraine Pascale pork chops Recipe


SERVING: 4

Ingredients

For the Pork:
  • Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 4 double-cut bone-in pork loin chops (about 1 pound each)
  • Vegetable oil, for the grill
For the Sauce:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups diced onions
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/4 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup prunes
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Serving suggestion: Smoky Corn on the Cob, recipe follows

Directions

For the Sauce:
  1. Prepare the pork: Mix 2 tablespoons salt, the black pepper, brown sugar and paprika in a bowl, then rub all over the chops. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 2 to 4 hours.
  2. Meanwhile, make the sauce: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the onions and cook until translucent, about 4 minutes. Stir in the vinegar and brown sugar until dissolved. Add the ketchup, apple juice, syrup, bourbon, prunes, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne, 1 tablespoon salt and 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 30 minutes. Puree with an immersion blender or in a regular blender.
  3. Preheat a grill to medium. Brush the grates with vegetable oil, then place the chops directly over the flame and grill until marked and cooked halfway through, about 15 minutes. Turn the chops and place on a cooler area of the grill (such as the edges); cover and cook until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 140 degrees F to 145 degrees F, 15 to 20 minutes. Uncover and brush the chops on all sides with the prepared sauce, then cover and cook until glazed, about 5 more minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and brush with more sauce. Tent with foil and let rest 10 minutes. Serve with more sauce and Smoky Corn on the Cob.
Smoky Corn on the Cob:
  1. Peel back the husks from the corn and remove the silk. Butter the kernels and sprinkle with salt and smoked paprika. Fold the husks back over the corn and grill over low heat until cooked through, turning occasionally, 12 to 15 minutes.

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup cornflakes cereal, crumbled
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar for dusting
  • Add all ingredients to list

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon. Take a small handful of cornflakes and crumble them into the mixture. Stir well.
  2. Soak the bread slices in the mixture for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Place the bread slices in the pan; brown on both sides. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar; serve hot.

Tip
I made this with our local bakery's cinnamon swirl bread and cut into nice thick slices. It made 4 slices so I added a couple more eggs and milk with a dash of syrup and made 2 more. It came out nicely crisp and moist. sweet homemade french toast recipe is always made best with day old or drier bread.

  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 2 (6.5 ounce) cans canned tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 16 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Add all ingredients to list

Directions

  1. In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  4. To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Tip

I like to use hot italian sausage and add some chopped mushrooms to the sauce while it is simmering. A dash or two of a good red wine to the sauce isn't a bad addition either. This is an absolutely wonderful dish - a little time consuming, but worth every minute !!

The non-aubergine portion was lifted from a French-Tunisian family friend, who made it for the Frenchman and me when she came to stay. (She served it with herb-rubbed, falling-off-the-bone chicken thighs. You can too.) It was a luxury to be cooked for, and to be taken care of so well through food. Pine nuts browned sumptuously in butter! The lemon-tinged warmth of sumac and za’atar! Cumin, harissa, and cinnamon, too. It’s actually a perfect inauguration to fall.
I asked for the recipe, and scribbled down the offhand recounting of a cook who has fashioned a dish so often, measurements are not longer consciously considered. I searched google for corroboration of spice quantities, and rice to meat ratios, but quickly realized no consensus: this dish is made, in various forms, across the Levant. Sometimes with lamb, or beef, or chicken. Often it includes peas and carrots, and other spices; almonds too. This rice and meat mixture–helpfully called “mixed rice”–is used judiciously in recipes across the region, frequently to stuff vegetables, wine or cabbage leaves.
What this recipe is not: the quintessential version of Ouzi, which anyway goes by other names and spelling variations. What it is: very tasty. A recipe filtered through this cook’s interpretation of a French-Tunisian-living-in-Cairo’s version of her Palestinian mother-in-law’s cooking, made with ingredients she found in my kitchen, in Jersey City, NJ. That sentence was exhausting, but the point is: make this for someone you care about.

At the simplest level this may involve washing, cutting, trimming, or adding other foods or ingredients, such as spices. It may also involve mixing, heating or cooling, pressure cooking, fermentation, or combination with other food. In a home, most food preparation takes place in a kitchen. Some preparation is done to enhance the taste or aesthetic appeal; other preparation may help to preserve the food; others may be involved in cultural identity. A meal is made up of food which is prepared to be eaten at a specific time and place.

In some countries, such as Brazil and Sweden, a mixture of ethanol and petrol, called gasohol in Brazil and E-85 in Sweden, is used as automobile fuel. Easy Thin Boneless Pork Chop Recipe - Found this recipe after finding thick cut pork chops. My husband is super picky when it comes to this cut of meat, and was very reluctant when I suggested it as a meal. I found this way of cooking them and thought, what the hey, it's Ree Drummond and all her food always looks delicious.
I'm soooo glad I followed this very simple, quick recipe!!! The chops came out so flavorful and moist! I did most of the cooking in the sauté pan and finished in the oven! I can't wait to do these again. And my husband was looking for seconds!! Very successful and delicious recipe!!

Easy Thin Boneless Pork Chop Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound tomatillos, husks removed
  • ½ cup chopped onion (1 medium)
  • 1 fresh jalapeno or serrano chile pepper, halved and seeded*
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 3 tablespoons pepitas, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces boneless pork loin chops
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup crumbled fresh cheese (1 ounce)

Directions

  1. In a covered large saucepan cook tomatillos, onion, jalapeno, and garlic in a large amount of boiling water about 8 minutes or until tomatillos turn light green. Drain.
  2. In a blender combine the tomatillo mixture, cilantro, pepitas, honey, and the 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cover and blend until smooth.
  3. Trim excess fat from pork chops. Sprinkle chops with additional salt and pepper. In a large skillet cook chops in hot oil over medium-high heat about 5 minutes or until browned, turning once.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cups of the tomatillo mixture to skillet. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 5 to 8 minutes or until chops are slightly pink in the centers (145 degrees F).
  5. Let stand for 3 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with queso fresco to serve.
Tip: Because Chile peppers contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes, avoid direct contact with them as much as possible. When working with Chile peppers, wear plastic or rubber gloves. If your bare hands do touch the peppers, wash your hands and nails well with soap and warm water.
